2007 Calendar
The last of
the Trifecta junior
tournaments for the 06/07 season is
coming up, March 9-11. It will be one of
the last events on the old Bethesda
courts before the new international
court area opens up. Entry form

The Venue:
Worldgate Sport and Health
is about half an hour drive from the
center of Washington DC. Worldgate sports
4 modern international courts and is
situated in the popular Herndon area just 5
minutes from Dulles Airport. The courts are
situated in a mall with a great selection of
restaurants, movie theatres and shopping
opportunities to take advantage of.
Accommodation: The Dulles
Marriott Suites, adjacent to the courts,
have been secured for accommodation at
a block rate of $139.00/night for a king
suite. Ask for the
"Sport and Health Squash Tournament Room
Block". This is a great deal c.f. $124 rate
on Expedia.

Sport and Health Opens (September 29 - October 1,
2006)

These tournaments are the Inaugural Sport and Health
Open Softball and Hardball tournaments. The
tournaments will be USSRA sanctioned. The softball
tournament will be played at five S&H clubs viz.
Arlington Y, Bethesda, Regency, RIO and Worldgate
Sport and Health. You indicate your preference for
the S&H club you wish to play at (choice not
guaranteed). Your early round matches are likely to
be at that club. All flights feed into semi-finals
and finals at Sport and Health club nominated at the
completion of the draw. Hardball tournament to be
played at Tenley Sport and Health. Alternative name
for the Hardball tournament is the Palmer Page
Hardball Classic. All after cost proceeds from the
hardball tournament and significant percentage from
the softball tournament go to the charity
organization SquashEmpower.

The dinner was a roaring success and good time

Junior USSRA Tournaments
Tournament Information:
Latest USSRA Schedule
Please note that the age groups for the junior
tournaments are boys and girls U19, 17, 15, 13,
and 11--as of the last day of the tournament.
- All juniors must be members of the NNJSRA
to be eligible for tournament play.
- Applications are available on line at USSRA.
- A minimum of four tournaments should be played
during each ranking season to achieve a national
ranking.
- Either the National Open, National Closed
or National Future Stars must be attended.
- Players must pass the Club Referees Certification
Exam to receive a final end of year ranking.
- Tournaments are ranked in order of difficulty
[1 being the most difficult and 5 the least
difficult].
- Always consult the USSRA web site for the
latest criteria for achieving national ranking
status.
Tournament Player Commitment:
In order to achieve the best results any junior
athlete competing in tournaments should make a
commitment by taking two classes, and one private
or semi-private per week.
Tournaments/Coaching:
We urge all junior players to review the schedule
of USSRA JUNIOR TOURNAMNETS.
Many tournaments will have limited draws and
early entry deadlines; it is your responsibility
to enter before the deadline, entry forms are
available at the club on line or can be found
in squash magazine. There will be a tournament
coaching fee charged for any juniors competing
in coached tournaments.
