Announcing for Juniors: Great Match Play — Sunday Mini-Tournaments and Friday Round Robins!

AussieNick Squash Junior Sunday Mini-Tournaments!

How it works – register your junior for this fun, educational and friendly competitive event by the Thursday deadline prior to the tournament

There are 2 divisions – Players are age grouped into Girls under 13 and u17 and Boys under 13 and u17 (under 13 means has not yet turned 13)

Times:  Sundays 5-8pm

Cost: Members $30, nonmembers $40: Cost includes: 2 matches per person, pizza, soda, and prizes, coaching tips including teaching rules, scoring and refereeing.

A brand new $210 racquet for the player who attends the most tournaments!

Juniors Round Robin — Fridays!

What is it – The Friday round robin is set up to provide your child with extra court time and playing games. It will be fun, educational and friendly competitive event, for ages grade 5 and above.

How does it work – The 3 courts will be divided into beginner, intermediate and advanced and your child will be placed within the appropriate group. They will play one game on, one game on with their group.

Cost: Members are Free;  and Non-members $10 per session.

Winter Break Clinics

These are designed as a mid-season intensive squash experience for juniors at all levels who are intent on improving their game. Camp highlights – Technical and tactical analysis, physical conditioning, game analysis, small group instruction and video analysis including a report with recommendations for training. Students will be divided into similar level groups

Coaches – Jim Masland, Connie Barnes,
Jacqueline Barnes (former Dartmouth #1)

Winter break dates: Dec 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31

2 sessions per day – 10am – 12 and 1 – 3pm

Cost – $40 per session per day or $70 for both per day

The Corporate Squash League provides participation in a fun, fitness oriented and convenient program for businesses and staff in Friendship Heights to fit your schedule.  Coordinator is Jackie Barnes, Dartmouth alum, captain of squash team, and former top 100 world ranking.

Program details:

How is it set up? – Workplace  teams learn how to play squash and then play in a league with other local businesses. All levels welcome!

When? – Clinics will be set up at convenient times for teams to learn and practice during August and September 2017.

Cost? – Corporate membership is $75 pm and includes the league as well as full usage of the gym, exercise classes, steam room and more! (Wow!)

Why? – Because learning a new sport, meeting new people across different work places, and playing on a team are fun, especially when combined with the best cardiovascular workout you can get (Forbes magazine).

Match times? – Self-scheduled with your opponent. Before work, lunchtime, after work or weekends commencing mid September

A recent meeting with the Deputy Mayor’s office to ask for assistance to bring squash and academic tuition to at risk youth at one school turned in to her asking if we can provide our services to ALL DCPS schools. This is a mammoth undertaking and I am currently working with 40 assistants and 13 working groups to move this forward

AussieNick in association with SquashRevolution are following on from the success of the first 7 years of the National Capital Open and are proud to announce the 2015 Charlotte Open Squash Tournament, which will feature a men's pro event, an adults tournament, and a social. The 2012/13 NCO tournaments were very popular with the DC community. The WSA event was won by US #1 Amanda Sobhy. The men's event, a marathon of record proportions, was won by Canada's Shawn DeLierre over Englishman Adrian Waller in a 157m epic at the Chevy Chase Athletic Club. The match remains the second longest pro match in history, under the PAR scoring system. It was recently broken at this years TOC, broken again by Shawn DeLierre.
